Paul R. Capps
Paul R. Capps,
the founder of the firm, was born in Donelson, Tennessee on
September 27, 1922. The grandson of the late Governor A. H.
Roberts, Mr. Capps graduated from Cumberland University School
of Law in 1947 and practiced law for 55 years before his death
in 2003. Personal counsel for Senator Herbert S. Walters, he
represented many corporations and organizations during his
career in litigating and assisting in the formation of new
industry as Morristown grew from town to city. Mr. Capps served
in both World War II and the Korean Conflict and returned to
Morristown to resume his practice after his honorable
discharge. Devoted to his church, First United Methodist Church
in Morristown and to his spouse, Marie Ready Capps, he had four
children, Diane C. Noe, Claudia C. Bonnyman, Paul C. Kyser and
Christopher P. Capps.
